Tyler Goldchain is an award-winning composer, artist, and multi-instumentalist.
Tyler won his first composition award for his debut score of the 2022 short film Graveyard which won him “Best Original Score” from the LA Crime and Horror Film Festival and special honors from Wesleyan University.
As a classically trained multi-instrumentalist, Tyler has performed all over the world including in Radio City Music Hall with Alicia Keys in 2022. He’s had the honor of collaborating with Grammy-winning producer Jim Pugh, the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, and the historic Sembrich. His original music and instrumentation has allowed to perform alongside talented artists including Tommy Richman, 2YBG, Amine, Masego, MAVI, and Jeff Tweedy.
Goldchain’s diverse career as an artist, composer and multi-instrumentalist informs his approach to artistry and composition. His score for the Off-Broadway production of Death By A Thousand Cuts required the totality of Tyler’s musical voices employing his mastery of drumset, guitar, piano, voice, production.
He is the recipient of many fellowships and awards including the National Endowment of the Arts Artist Corps Fellowship, Composer Spotlight Program sponsored by the Mellon Foundation, and the Bitsie Clark grant
His inventive and beautiful compositions are drawn from classicl, jazz and gospel traditions. He has scored My Husband, Donna, the award winning short film Artboy,Welcome Home Jeremy Diaz and adverstising spots for Hunter Boots. He captures the unique roots of his upbringing while honoring the traditions that shaped him and our greater musical landscape.
